Aspen Recieves 1st Signifigant Snow of Season
While the entire Ski Butler's work force was putting some final touches on plans for the upcoming season in Park City, the Aspen area was already picking up there first signifigant snowfall of the season!  Reports from the top of Snowmass are measuring just under a foot of new snow!  It is a pleasure to see the ski runs of all 4 resorts covered in white, right down into town! Ski tracks are already visible all over the Aspen area!

Team Spirit
This past week, Ski Butlers completed its first ever company-wide operations meeting in Park City, Utah. 25+ Ski Butlers came into town to focus on how to make sure our operations are the same across all our locations to offer a consistent customer experience.

When I founded Ski Butlers, in the spring of 2004, there were plans for one location and maybe to grow to about 10 team members. Seven years later, to have 25+ team members come together, from 10 locations, working on one common goal is truly remarkable. The enthusiasm, the team spirit, the consistent message to offer the best customer service, from a new team member, to an owner, is something that I am so proud of.

We always say that two is better than one, and three is better than two and so forth...I can assure you that this season we will have 100 team members acting like owners. Oh, the places we will go!

Thanks to our team members, you are the reason I get up each day and work so hard.

Thanks to our loyal customers, you make everything we do so rewarding. From everyone at Ski Butlers, we can not wait to Deliver Service to you this winter and to make your vacation the best it can be.

PS: Winter arrived this week! Come out and visit.

Equipment Preview #2 - NEW Rossignol Experience Series and More!
This issue highlights the NEW Rossignol Experience and Temptation Series, along with the Dynastar Legend Idyll.

The new Experience series is going to be a big hit. In its first season, it has already won numerous awards. I am going to use the Experience 98 as my day to day ski this season. The Experience 98 is so versatile, that if I could only have one ski this year, this would be the ski. However, I am fortunate enough to also be able to have the Super 7 for the powder days.

Snow is in the forecast for the western resorts this week. I can't wait!

Jackson Hole Adventure Seekers

Jackson Hole is known for it's world-class skiing but also offers a host of unique wintertime activities.  Here are a few must-do's for the adventure seekers coming to Jackson Hole.

Take a trip through Yellowstone, the world's first national park, on snowmobile.  View wildlife, visit Old Faithful, and discover the fascinating thermal features of the park.  Guided tours are a must.

Get up close to the Tetons by cross-country skiing or a snowshoe tour in Grand Teton National Park.  You can rent equipment in town and head out on your own, or join a tour.

A winter visit to Jackson Hole would not be complete without the unique experience of a sleigh ride on the National Elk Refuge.  From mid- December to late March visitors can enjoy a horse-drawn sleigh ride in and around a herd of over 10,000 elk.

Want to really step it up? View the wilds of Wyoming and give your driving skills a test with a dog sled tour.  A day of extreme dog sledding and mushing in Jackson Hole for those with a zest for speed and snow, single overnight trips, and multiple overnight excursions for those who want to experience the "real" backcountry.

If you are planning to come here to do one thing and one thing only... Ski and snowboard, then here are a few must-do's.

There is nothing like the adrenaline rush that comes from a day of ripping through waist deep powder with the helicopter buzzing in the background.  Book a Jackson Hole heli-skiing tour for the ultimate skiing and snowboarding experience.

To experience the awe dropping backcountry skiing without a helicopter, you can go SnowCat skiing and log up to 20,000 vertical feet of untouched powder.  Half day and full day tours are available.

For the really fit adventure skiers and snowboarders that want to do it on their own two feet can experience our world-class terrain with European style off-piste access by hiring a backcountry guide.  They will show you the way and teach you how to travel safely in the backcountry while finding secret powder stashes the guides only know about.

Weather you are looking for the same thrills but off the ski slopes or want to explore the backcountry, the options are endless and there is something for everyone.

Lake Tahoe Ski Butlers Bought by Founder
Some good news below for all our loyal customers!

Truckee, CA…Ski Butlers Tahoe has been bought back by Ski Butlers founder and current President, Bryn Carey. “This is a great opportunity for the Lake Tahoe area and Ski Butlers,” said Carey. “Lake Tahoe is one the most recognizable destinations in the ski industry and our award winning service is a perfect fit for its visitors. I am bringing my knowledge, enthusiasm, and resources from owning the Park City, Vail, Breckenridge and Jackson Hole branches and implementing it here in Tahoe.” It might not be all business, explains Carey. “I am also very excited to be able to ski Tahoe’s world famous terrain.”

Carey founded Ski Butlers out a single car garage in Park City, UT. After a well-received first year in Park City combined with such high demand, Carey expanded to Vail, Colorado. During this year Carey also began to sell franchises. The Lake Tahoe branch opened in 2004 and became a Ski Butlers franchise in 2009.

It's Turkey Time Again

I just ordered my free range turkey at the grocery store.   For those of you south of the border who think I might be a bit early, it is actually Canadian Thanksgiving next weekend.  And don't we all have so much to be thankful for!  Our family and friends, the amazing places we live, our health and of course the promise of a La Nina winter to blast us with another record snowfall.

Thanksgiving weekend in Whistler is a busy one and signals the end of many summer activities.  It's the last weekend the lifts run until the mountain opens for skiing, last weekend for the bike park, last weekend for most golf courses, last weekend of the farmers market.  It begins the true shoulder season when we jump up in the mornings to look for the snow on the mountain peaks and then for the snow outside our doors.

The shoulder season is busy for Ski Butlers as we prepare for another exciting season of delivering legendary service.  From unpacking our shiny new Rossi skis, reorganizing our shops, getting our teams trained and vans tuned for the season, there's never a dull moment.  We also have the chance to work with our whole family of Ski Butlers as we come together in Park City later in October for the Operations meetings.

It's the American Thanksgiving we really look forward to in Whistler when the mountains open and it's time to ski once again.  Happy Thanksgiving to All!
