Return of La Nina

Jackson Hole just keeps getting better! Last winter accumulated 723 inches of snowfall, 475 of those inches were during the ski season. Looking to next season, meteorologists predict a return of La Nina! Statistically, winters during which the ‘la Nina’ phenomenon provide 52% more snow than non-la Nina years at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.  We should expect another year with ample powder days.

All new this season, the Marmot double chair lift! This lift will carry skiers and snowboarders 1200 vertical feet from the South Pass Traverse, below the Thunder Lift, to the top of the Gondola, helping to move along the morning madness. Beginning a day at the top of the Gondola Summit will provide guests with the opportunity to get ready for the day by grabbing something to eat at the Dog House Café or enjoying a relaxing morning and sitting back at the award winning Couloir Restaurant.

The Luxury Collection has full access to the 5 star clubhouse and spa. The Lift, Lodging and Lunch, continues to be one a terrific values, providing everything you need for a day for $99.

It has been a whirlwind of a week here at Jackson Hole!  Between the frenzy of holiday preparations and the blizzard of snowfall, we feel as if we are living inside a snow globe.  Today, the glitter and the glitz has finally settled - for a moment - as skies cleared the way for Santa and his reindeer tonight.  With today's perfect conditions, Santa will not be the only one with rosy red cheeks.

After skiing, the fun does not end.  Après-ski is just getting started. There are plenty of places to eat, drink, and relax in mountain village, Mangy Moose, is the rowdiest of them all and one of the locals favorite.  From saddle bar stools to wine bars, Jackson Hole has something for everyone.

Then comes the dinning. Jackson has a remarkably diverse assemblage restaurants, from coffee and breakfast shops to simple family-style cooking to the big game steakhouses.  There is something to satisfy everyone’s pallet.

Just a short, scenic 12 miles down the road from the mountain is the town of Jackson. With free shuttle service through out the town, it makes the exciting nightlife, easily accessible and safe to partake in until the wee hours of the night.  Make sure you check the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce for listings of all the events going on this winter.

Don’t forget to sign up for the resort’s Vertical Foot Club which lets out-of-town skiers (locals are not eligible) track their cumulative runs, awarding certificates and belt buckles at specific milestones. You can also earn a free day of skiing for your next visit. Sign up at the Guest Service Center at the base area.
