Know the Weather! – Conditions in Lake Tahoe can go from one extreme to the extreme in a short amount of time. Be prepared. Dress in layers and always wear plenty of sunscreen, even on cloudy days.

Sierra-at-Tahoe: Home to numerous Tahoe Olympic snowboarders! Only resort in Lake Tahoe with a top-to-bottom “green” or beginner run. Great terrain parks!
Wind-Hold: Just because the Heavenly Gondola is on wind-hold, it doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways to access the mountain. California Lodge is almost guaranteed to be open every day of the year. Also - Sierra-at-Tahoe is a sheltered mountain, meaning they experience little to no wind.
California Lodge: Hit the California Lodge at the top of Ski Run Blvd. Check out Heavenly before the Gondola. Great way to access the mountain on a powder day. Local’s favorite and home to the Gunbarrel 25. Tons of Free Parking and serviced by the Heavenly shuttle system.
Get on the Lake: So many people come to Lake Tahoe and never experience being on the water. Book a cruise on the M.S. Dixie and enjoy food and libations on Lake Tahoe “blue” waters.
