Telluride is Gearing up for Another Winter

Telluride

Telluride ski resort will host the sole U.S. stop of the LG FIS World Cup Snowboard Cross. The cup will return to Telluride December 15 – 18, along with several world class competitors. The names include two time Gold medalist Seth Wescott and three time X Games gold medalist Lindsey Jacobellis, just to name a few. 2010 Vancouver Olympic Snowboard cross designer Jeff Ihaksi has already arrived in Telluride and is working alongside Telluride’s terrain park and snowmaking teams to construct the course as we speak. The course will finish right in the heart of Mountain Village which will give spectators great opportunities to watch their favorite athletes compete head to head in this downhill event. You can always visit www.tellurideworldcup.com for more information.
Telluride Resort also kept extremely busy over the summer months to improve the on-mountain experience that skiers and snowboarders have come to love about Telluride. They have constructed a steel bridge and stairway that stretches 126 feet giving side country enthusiast easier access to Gold Hill Chutes 9 and 10. The resort has also taken an aggressive clean up act of long skied tree areas within the resorts boundaries. Look for new gladed areas off of lift 5, 9 and 12
If you haven’t been to Telluride and don’t know what you are missing be sure to check out Warren Millers new film Wintervention which showcases all of what makes this box canyon known as Telluride so unique!
