Whistler Summer Event Highlights

Whistler has had one of the best Summers on record with almost two straight months of sunny weather. It has been the perfect setting for all the World Class events we have hosted.

Now that labor Day Weekend has come and gone we are in the tail end of summer activities and events.

Starting the season off was the Tough Mudder, where close to 15,000 people come to subject themselves to a series of brutal obstacles, icy water and electric shock treatments. On the opposite end of the scale we had Wanderlust Yoga Lifestyle festival that brought together the worlds leading yoga teachers and top musical acts. Crankworx, a 10-day multi-disciplinary mountain bike festival celebrating epic endurance races, monster big airs and crazy downhill riding delivered a world class event.

One of the Summer highlights would be the Subaru Ironman Triathlon Whistler. This event encompassed so many great attributes of the Whistler Community. With hundreds of Volunteers needed and road closures it was great to see the people of our community embrace this event. Without being there to witness it is difficult to appreciate the amount of commitment from the Ironman Staff, athletes and volunteers needed to hold such an event. Hundreds of spectators were up from Dawn to Midnight to watch friends and family compete.

After such an amazing and busy Summer of sporting events I think everyone is looking forward to October/November and it’s Food and Wine Festivals.
