Burton US Open takes over Vail

The Burton US Open is the premier snowboard competition, due to it’s longevity(34 years running!) and position as the final event of the competitive season. The event moved to Vail, Colorado in 2013, and features Men’s and Women’s Olympic level events in Slopestyle and Halfpipe.

For 2016 there are five days jam-packed with events and concerts, from February 29th — March 5th. Qualifying and Semi-Finals begin on the 1st, culminating in the Slopestyle Finals on the 4th and Halfpipe Finals on the 5th. All events take place at Golden Peak and are free to attend. This is a great opportunity to see world class athletes up close!

In addition to the competition, there are also free concerts put on at Solaris plaza in the heart of Vail Village. These shows feature headliner acts; previous artists include Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Big Gigantic, Mackemore and Ryan Lewis, and Santigold. Remember to wear your ski gear though, because though free all shows are outside and can get cold!
