Winter in Yellowstone

The town of Big Sky is less than an hour away from the town of West Yellowstone and the West entrance to the park. While most people in the winter come to experience the biggest skiing in America, Yellowstone offers numerous outdoor activities. Snowmobiling and viewing wildlife are just a few of the things to do in and around the park.

Colder temperatures at higher elevations bring wildlife down into the more flat, and warmer areas. Because the geysers stay at such a high temperature in the winter, the wildlife flock to these areas to eat and stay warm. Bison, bears, wolves, elk, eagles, and many more animals can be found around the park.
