Why Our Customers Will Love Chamonix

By now, you have seen our BIG announcement about our continued European expansion: we have expanded our services to Chamonix-Mont-Blanc in the French Alps! Whether you have been to the French Alps before or not, you are probably looking for more information about Chamonix itself. To help you prepare for a once in a lifetime ski trip, we are breaking down the top reasons why our customers will love Chamonix.

It’s the world capital of skiing

Known as the World Capital of Skiing, Chamonix was the first town to host the Winter Olympics in 1924, and for good reason! The Mont Blanc Unlimited pass allows guests to access 10 ski areas and over 1000km, including the Mont Blanc tunnel to Italy. While beginners will find entire ski areas dedicated to green runs here, Chamonix is best known for advanced skiing.

It’s a perfect location for the Ski Butlers service

Chamonix may be one of the most historic ski towns in the world, with bucket-list skiing for all abilities, but the village has a bustling cosmopolitan environment and was built as a pedestrian town, making it difficult to get around by car. Why struggle to try to find parking and run into the nearest ski shop when you can just call Ski Butlers and have us come to you for your equipment drop-off, fitting, and pick-up?

It offers the opportunity for guests to move around 10 ski areas in one day

Did you know that Chamonix-Mont-Blanc has ten different ski areas? Offering an unparalleled amount of terrain, skiers are able to move around from peak to peak on any given day. All of the resorts are linked by a bus system, but what happens if you need to switch out skis between resorts? Thanks to the convenience of the Ski Butlers’ service, you won’t have to worry because you can call us to come to you and switch out your skis wherever you are within Chamonix, even if it is a different resort from where you started. Need even more convenience? Our services in Chamonix will include overnight ski storage steps from the Aiguille du Midi for those skiing Vallée Blanche.

It boasts some of the best nightlife in the Alps

The resort town of Chamonix may only have 9,000 residents, but it features world-class restaurants. Whether you are a foodie or you dabble in occasional fine dining, all types of eaters with varying budgets will have great options in Chamonix. One of them is Albert 1er, which offers fine hotel dining and is rated as one of the world’s best ski resort restaurants. Did we mention that it has two Michelin stars? If you’re the type who prefers apres to a big meal, you can’t go wrong with Chambre Neuf for live music or Elevation 1904 for a quieter local vibe.

The views can’t be beat

Whether its on-piste or on an off day, you can enjoy the incredible views in Chamonix from just about anywhere in the area. For a unique experience, you can take a retro tram from the center of Chamonix up to 1,913m to check out the Mer de Glacé, or Sea of Ice. The Mer de Glacé is a proper glacier, and France’s largest glacier at that, providing an educational viewing opportunity. Prefer to leave the ground? No problem. The Aiguille du Midi offers an unparalleled experience for Chamonix visitors. Traveling by cable car up to 3,777m, you will be able to walk around a stable terrace on the summit, taking in views of the French, Swiss, and Italian Alps all at once. Looking to get your adrenaline up? Head to the Step into the Void” glass box and look straight down the 1000m drop below your feet.
