The Power of Four
All ski towns are unique in their own respective ways. Although we can probably think of many reasons as to why Aspen is unique, one characteristic that sets it apart, is it's location. Aspen is located in the Sawatch Range and Elk Mountains corner of the Rockies and as result provides four of the best resort mountains for any type of skiing you could imagine. The Power of Four includes; Aspen (or Ajax) Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass. Each mountain contributes to more than 13,300' vertical rise, with 40 lifts (including gondolas) that help move more than 57,200 skiers per hour. Although they are within 20 minutes of each other, each mountain has it's own set of unique characteristics that attracts all different types, levels and styles of skiers and snowboarders.
