4 Tips to Make the Most Out of Early Season Skiing

1 ) Get in shape — Everyone skier and rider knows that their sport requires the use of muscles not used as often during the summer months. Many gyms even offer a preseason workout class this is specifically designed to whip your skiing muscles into shape. Strengthening leg and core muscles prior to your first day will increase longevity and reduce the risk of an injury from day one.

2.) Preparation — The first day of ski season is always exciting. Make sure you make a pre departure checklist of ALL gear for the next day, so nothing gets left behind. Also, nobody wants to wait in line at the ticket office before the firsts runs, so we recommend that you make sure to have have your lift ticket before getting to the slopes.

3.) Don’t rush to the slopes- Eat a hearty breakfast at your favorite breakfast nook before heading to the mountain. You’ll need the energy. The snow on the slopes this time of year is often man made, a little sun in the morning to allows the slopes to soften up, making your first runs more fun.

4.) Try out gear- Dreading your rear entry boots or old skis? At Ski Butlers we have brand new boots and skis from Rossignol that is sure to make your first day out more enjoyable. Rent some newer gear like a pair of Rossignol E88 HD skis and experience improved edge hold and ease of use (even on icy slopes). Leave your old painful boots at home, and let the experts at Ski Butlers set you up with a new pair of Rossignol boots so you can have a comfortable and fun experience on the hill.
