STARS: Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports

Steamboat is an extremely lucky community to have such organizations as STARS. STARS (Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports) has made a commitment to serve Steamboat as an organization offering programs for mentally and physically disabled kids and adults that allow them to enjoy both the winter and summer sports.

Founded in 2006 by a group of parents, ski instructors and Ski Corp management, STARS strives to empower and enrich lives through recreational activities. During the winter, you’ll see private ski lessons on the mountain, military programs, buddy programs and group inclusive programs. During the summer you’ll see water ski camps, bike trips and adaptive horseback riding camps. STARS has not only helped local kids and adults connect with the sports they’ve dreamed of participating in, but they’ve also helped encourage tourism. Because of STARS, Steamboat has become a destination for families who have family members who are mentally or physically disabled. Steamboat is truly lucky to have such an outstanding nonprofit in its community.

Ski Butlers Steamboat cares so much about STARS that we’ve actually chosen them as our Round Up Program” beneficiary for the last three years. This program gives our customers the chance to add an additional $10 to their order that is then donated directly to STARS. It’s not just a wonderful way to give back, but it really is a great way for our guests to connect to Steamboat and feel like they are a part of our community. Thank you to all of our customers who have given to the program so far! Collectively over the last 3 years, Ski Butlers Steamboat has donated over $2,000 to STARS. We couldn’t have done it without you! For more information about STARS, please visit www.steamboatstars.com
