2025 – 2026 Preseason: What’s happening in Park City?

It’s snowing; it’s not snowing. Resorts are opening; resorts are delayed. Early-mid November can be challenging, but one thing is for certain: the Ski Butlers team is always ready.

Today, we’d like to give you a behind the scenes look at what’s going on in the Ski Butlers Park City distribution center. All of the gear is here. Skis, snowboards, poles, boots — you name it. As avid skiers and snowboarders, it’s like Christmas in here. While the papercuts may say otherwise, we love unboxing the latest gear.

We sat down with Sarah, Justin and Alec from our Park City team to talk about some of the biggest challenges entering the 2025/2026 season.

What is the most challenging thing about the pre-season?

Sarah: The Park City team grows by over 100 people. That’s a significant increase. Getting that many people on the bus is challenging.”

Alec: Ultimately, while the job isn’t easy, it is simple. It’s just skis, boards and boots. Explaining how simple it is to that many people can also be hard.”

How do you prep the shop for deliveries?

Sarah: We have a lot of gear to unbox, set up and organize. If we need to make space, we may need to build something. But really, the hardest thing is trying to remember where all the studs are!”

What are some of your most fun memories from last year?

Justin: Delivering skis during dinner time. Most of the time the family just invites me to eat dinner with them before fitting their skis. Happens all the time and I can’t say no!”

Sarah: Yes! There was this one time…I arrived at a family’s house, sweating, after several deliveries in a row. They asked if I wanted to join them for dinner and of course I accepted. The food was spicy and I was clearly uncomfortable. They asked me where I was from and I said Maine’ — yes, the food isn’t very spicy there! I guess that story was more embarrassing than fun…””

Alec: I pride myself in providing a fun environment for kids and families. There have been several situations where I’ve arrived early in the morning – maybe 7am or so – only to find young siblings who don’t want to ski that day. I do my impressions and talk about how fun and awesome skiing is and they always stop crying. Mission accomplished!”

What’s your favorite ski?

Alec: Rossi Sender Soul 92 or Parlor 96: Deer Valley Edition.”
