97% of Vail's massive terrain is open!

Vail, Colorado is truly a world class vacation destination. Vail has had incredible early season snowfall creating mid-winter conditions. Skiing is superb and continues to get better as more snow falls daily! 97% of Vail’s massive terrain is open including 5108 of 5289 acres, 27 of 31 lifts, and 193 of 193 trails are open. At Beaver Creek, 72% of terrain is open including 1303 of 1815 acres, 21 of 25 lifts, and 102 of 149 trails are open.
 
Events that are taking place this week in Vail include a variety of activities to enhance your vacation experience. This week, Vail is offering free tours of the Vail Mountain to skiers and snowboarders that are 50 years of age and older. This is a great way to familiarize yourself with Vail’s 5,289 acres of skiable terrain. This tour meets at Eagle Nest at 9:15 AM. Not 50 years old? No worries, Vail also offers daily tours for all intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders who would like to become more familiar with Vail Mountain. Tours meet at Eagle’s Nest and Mid-Vail. Reservations are not required, so just show up with a smile and be ready to have some fun.
 
Trying to figure out what to do after the lifts close? Adventure Ridge at the top of the Gondola at Eagle’s Nest is a great place for families and people of all ages to enjoy a variety of activities such as snow tubing, bungee trampoline, kids’ snowmobiling, and ski biking. Premiering in Vail December 18th - 25th is the Vail Family Holidaze, a new celebration of the holiday season in Vail for 2011. Daily activities and free events, Vail Family Holidaze caters to families, teens and young adults. Vail/Beaver Creek is the place to be this December. Families can enjoy decorating your own snowman, live on-ice performances at the new Solaris Residence in Vail Village, outdoor concerts and much more!
