5 Summer Must in Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole

Jackson is an absolute playground for the outdoor adventurer looking to pump some adrenaline or the casual enthusiast searching for amazing views, good food, and cold drinks. Whichever type of person you are, Jackson Hole in the summer time has got something for you. Here are just a few of our favorite things to do in Jackson when we go visit in the summer!

1. Grand Teton National Park

Cross another national park off your list by visiting Grand Teton National Park! Just a short drive outside of Jackson this is a one stop destination for any outdoor lover. With over 200 miles of trails to hike, along with plenty of camping and lakes and rivers to check out, there’s no reason to ever leave! Looking for a hike followed by a rewarding dip? Check out the Bradley Lake Trail! Is floating more your style? Then you have to take a tube down Snake River and experience the mountains of the Grand Tetons all from the comfort of the water. If you’re looking for a bit more of a guided experience, the Grand Teton National Park offers guided trips and tube rentals for people who want to fully experience what this river has to offer.

2. Biking

Jackson Hole has an abundance of biking for whichever style you prefer! More of a road biker? You have to check out Jackson Hole Pathways. This paved path system connects the Grand Teton National Park, Teton Village, Wilson and Jackson and is perfect for the casual biker or the experienced road biker. If you’re trying to get off the road and onto the dirt, then head no further then to Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. With lift accessible trails you can have all the fun of downhill mountain biking without any of the downsides. If you’re still new to the sport and don’t own your own bike, no worries, Jackson offers tons of bike rentals for whatever it is you’re trying to ride.

3. Horseback Rides

Experience what it feels like to be a westerner by hopping on the back of a horse and galloping through the fields of Jackson! There are tons of ranches through the valley with plenty of trips to choose from. Trips can last anywhere from an hour to a few days depending on how ambitious you want to be with ranches offering guides and camping gear.

4. Trams and Gondolas!

Still want to catch a view without the hassle of hiking? Check out Jackson Hole’s tram (aka Big Red”) for a ride up to the summit of Rendezvous Mountain. The ride has some of the best views of Jackson Hole and the surrounding area with hiking trails at the top if you want to go even further. You can also hop on the Bridger Gondola for free, starting at 5, for happy hour, amazing views, and live music all at The Deck, located right at the top of the gondola.

5. Yellowstone National Park

No trip would be complete if you didn’t stop and check out Yellowstone National Park. Check out the famous geyser field home of the legendary Old Faithful or marvel at the giant hotsprings that reside in Yellowstone, including the Grand Prismatic Hot Spring which is the third largest hot spring in the world. Yellowstone is also filled with more wildlife than anywhere in the United States which includes the world’s largest bison herd, plenty of wild horses, and of course grizzly bears. Go for a day trip or stay a few days, either way you will be awestruck by the beauty within this park.
