Thank You

The season’s winding down and as the snow begins to melt it’s time to get those final days before the summer season hits. Before it does, we wanted to give a huge thank you from everyone here at Ski Butlers to our partners, resorts, team members and especially our customers for making this season happen.

It’s been a long strange year since ski resorts across the United States, and beyond, abruptly stopped their lifts in light of COVID-19 back in March 2020. A lot of people, including us at Ski Butlers, felt like the Spring ski season was taken from us, and it left us feeling unsatisfied and worried with what the future held for the ski industry and the world as a whole.

Luckily, thanks to the incredible and relentless planning and staff that work within the ski industry, skiing was back on the schedule this year. With everyone doing their absolute best to ensure there would be no unscheduled closing days or hiccups throughout the season.

Of course, there were new obstacles to overcome. From required reservations, masks mandates, to longer lift lines to make sure people were safe and social distancing, the sport that allowed us to forget about the real world and it’s problems could now be seen everywhere. But damn, that didn’t stop us from having one incredible year. In a time where it feels like people are coming apart, seeing customers, employees, and resorts come together for the love of skiing is what this community is all about.

It’s that community, along with the snow, that has made this season so memorable to everyone across the ski industry. From Christmas to Easter, seeing families and skiers alike excited to be back at the resorts and skiing again was something that Ski Butlers has strived for since our very beginning.

There’s been a fair share of highlights throughout this season as well. February was absolutely insane with the amount of snow we got throughout all of our locations. Salt Lake City got a record amount of snow on February 17th leading to some fantastic powder days across the Utah resorts. Squaw Valley got slammed with 286-plus inches over the course of the month, making it the snowiest February in recent history. Jackson Hole also had a top ten snowiest months of all time, getting 160 inches over the course of February.

These February snow falls didn’t just rejuvenate the mountains but people’s spirits throughout the ski industry. Finally, after months of stress and preparation, it felt good to talk to someone about the one love we can all agree upon, snow.

February led into a fantastic March filled with warm days and even more snow across the resorts. Not only were people beginning to get those sunny laps that were unfortunately canceled last year but the snow just kept coming. It was an exciting time here for all of us in the ski industry, not only did it finally begin to feel like things were getting back to normal, but we were also able to celebrate it through slushie spring laps, a little powder here and there, and of course a good relaxing apres after a long day.

No matter where you were skiing this year, I think we can all agree that we needed this year more than any other in the past. Either to help us forget about the problems the world has been facing or to just get out and have fun with friends after months of being shut off from one another. This season will go down in the books as one of the best, and we at Ski Butlers are proud that we were able to be a part of that. Again, we want to thank everyone from team members, partners, resorts, and our customers for making this season completely unforgettable for us. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for everyone and we are already looking forward to seeing everyone again next season.
