Will the snow ever stop?

Hello from Breckenridge! The snow certainly hasn’t stopped, and quite frankly, we are all questioning if it ever will? I look outside my window at the fresh 12 of snow and run to grab my Pow Skis, but wait the mountain closed two weeks ago! Spring Fever hasn’t even hit because we haven?t seen the sun yet! You look outside and it looks like the middle of January! Road Closures, Winter Storm Warnings, and Powder Conditions are still a daily occurrence. Locals here are in a state of limbo. Everybody is itching to pull out those tents, BBQ?s and hiking boots, but who can turn down a powder day!

As of Apr. 24, Brecks closing day, the mountain had seen 519? of total snowfall, with a 105? base still remaining. Anyone who was lucky enough to be here December and January enjoyed 188 inches of fresh snow ? the most in 10 years! January 18, however, was a day that will be talked about for years, if not decades. 26 inches fell overnight, and anyone lucky enough to get some turns in will tell you what it is truly like to experience the white room!

Just in time for the another season, we are proud to introduce our new Rossignol Powder Line, which will be offered next season. Let me tell you, there is nothing quite like the feeling you get when floating on 2 feet of fresh snow. We look forward seeing the excitement in your eyes and smiles on your faces after experiencing it for yourself!

The month of April was nothing short of spectacular. Breckenridge announced the first ever Spring Fever Festival, which lasted the entire month. All of us enjoyed free concerts, including Moe and The Wailers, dining specials, the annual imperial challenge, and the best spring conditions in years. Needless to say, it was a season not to be forgotten.

Although the snow will soon be gone, anyone who has been here will tell you that summer in the mountains is still the best kept secret. The sun shines almost every day, and the temperature rarely gets above 80 degrees. The summer festivals, outdoor activities, shopping, dining and nightlife are truly spectacular.

As a final note, all of us from the Breckenridge shop would like to extend our gratitude to all of our loyal customers. It was a record breaking year in more ways than one, and we enjoyed serving all of you. We look forward to seeing all the familiar faces again next season.
